Create unique decorative bowls and houses with Raysin casting compound
Step 1: Observe mixing ratio
Carefully mix the Raysin casting compound with water to a smooth, creamy consistency. Follow the instructions for use on the packaging:
- Mixing ratio: 280 ml water + 1 kg Raysin powder = 650 ml casting compound (1 part water to 3.5 parts powder).
Step 2: Pouring in the casting compound
Carefully pour the mixed casting compound into the prepared moulds.
Step 3: Remove air bubbles
Carefully tap the filled mould on the surface several times so that any air bubbles can rise to the surface and escape.
Step 4: Remove the castings from the mould
After about an hour, the cast objects can be carefully removed from the mould. Leave them to air dry for a while.
Step 5: Smooth the edges
Smooth the edges of the dry cast objects with sandpaper to achieve an even and clean surface.
Step 6: Apply craft paints
Paint the edges of the bowls or the sides of the houses with different craft paints. Apply about three coats of paint to achieve an evenly covering layer of colour.
Step 7: Stamp the silk paper
Stamp a piece of silk paper to your liking. Place it right side up on a candle.
Wrap a piece of baking paper around the candle, pull it tight and carefully work the surface with the embossing dryer. The wax will begin to melt slightly and cover the silk paper.
Leave the candle to cool briefly and then carefully remove the baking paper.
Tip: Customise the candles
If your stick candle is too large in diameter, you can adjust it with a candle sharpener. To ensure that the candle stands firmly in the decorative bowl, place a small wax sticker on the bottom of the casting mould.
