Modelling a planter with a face
Cut off half of the soft clay and knead it well before modelling. This makes the clay easier to work with. Set aside some of the clay for the face and the feet.
Shape the rest into an abstract bowl with your hands. You can give free rein to your personal taste.
For the feet, roll two balls of the same size and place them under the bowl. Use the modelling brushes to join the masses together well.
You can smooth out any unevenness with a little water.
For the face, roll out thin strips, shape them on the table and smooth them with a little water if necessary.
Place all the parts of the face on the bowl and press everything on gently. Tip: Instead of carefully pressing the face on, you can stick it to the planter with craft glue once it has dried.
After a drying time of approx. 24 hours, coat the planter with clay sealant to seal it.
