Wall decoration with green plants from paper

These green plants are made of paper and do not require maintenance! The natural look of the wall decoration will certainly fit into your home. Learn how to recreate our homemade installation here.

The basis for the 3-D mural is a painting cardboard in the format 30 x 40 cm. VBS painting cardboard is supplied already primed white. However, if you prime the painting cardboard with another layer of white paint, you are guaranteed to get the white you want.
In addition, you provide the perfect adhesive base:
Stencil the white ornaments. To do this, position the painting stencil, fill the ornaments with texture paste and carefully remove the painting stencil.

Design the ornamental shelf

The shelf is made from a square bar. Saw 6 pieces of 30 cm each. First glue 5 of the pieces to form a wooden board.

Two cords will be the shelf suspension. Place two pieces between the already glued square timbers and the last (6th strip), glue everything well.

Ornamental baskets weaving

You will need a peddigree bottom Ø 9 cm for both baskets. Cut this into two parts so that one part with 8 holes, the second part with 9 holes (with 17 holes on the bottom). Due to the two different sized parts you get so two different sized and thus more individual and "lively" baskets.

Bamboo skewers represent the "cross braces" of the woven baskets. They are shortened to the same length according to the number of holes per "basket" and then glued into the holes: small pot: 8 sticks of 8 cm, large pot 9 sticks of 10 cm.

Once firmly glued, weave cord tape around the bamboo skewers until the basket look is perfect. Secure the cord end of each with craft glue.

Craft a pliea plant

You can easily punch the decorative circular leaves of the popular green plant with motif perforators from clay paper. Cut the circles each to the middle and glue them together slightly overlapping. This creates the slightly funnel-shaped leaf shape. Model the edges of the leaves with an embossing tool, you will get an even more plastic, natural look.

Cut a few pieces of the paper wire, paint them with green paint from the marker pen and glue the wire to the paper leaves as "plant stems".

The green plant, also known as a pea plant, you also make from green painted pieces of paper wire and tissue paper that is crumpled into small balls glued to the wires.

Now put everything together

Glue the shelf board to the painting board with mosaic glue. This special glue fixes particularly strongly and also fills gaps very well.

Knot each of the cords underneath the shelf, guide them upwards to the back of the wall decoration and fix them there so that it looks as if the shelf is hanging from it. Underneath the knots, untie the individual threads of the cords so that decorative fringes are created.

Also with mosaic glue fix and the two woven pots on the board. Add plug-in foam and arrange the paper plants. Finally, glue picture eyelets as a suspension to the back of the painting board.
